I was born in Calabria, Italy 51 years ago. I am thinking of traveling
to Italy and Calabria for the first time ever…I am thinking of visiting
the 3rd week of July for about a week and then take a train to Rome to
spend a last few days there. I am interested in seeing where I was born
Cleto, Cosenza, Calabria and to visit the grave site of my
grandparents…of course I would like to stay in one of the seaside cities
or towns…I was thinking of staying somewhere in Amantea which I’m told
is not too far from Cleto…can you please recommend accomodations? Thank
you…
Ciao Domenic, I wish you well when you come back to visit your homeland. July has fantastic weather so a good time to come. Cleto is close to Lamezia – if you get the train from Rome the train will arrive directly into Lamezia Central Train Station near the airport. From here you can get a Taxi or a local train to Amantea.
As Cleto is South of Amantea I would recommend the following Hotel which is just on the beach and very nice La Tonnara – Amantea.
We hope you enjoy your trip.
